finishes the car off in my opinion. I will get some better pictures of the outside of the car when / if the weather clears up! The car has done just over 100k miles, thats an average of only 6000 miles / year, this is low for one of thease. The engine and autobox are smooth and powerfull as is to be expected and all of the electrics work as they should. Being 16 years old it does have some minor faults, it uses a small amount of power steering fluid but this has never been enough of a problem for me to get it fixed and hasnt been a problem at MOT time. The aircon needs to be re-gassed, again its not somthing I have needed to sort out. On the last MOT it failed on a split stearing rack gater and a small leak on the exhaust system (both cured since). I have owned the car a little over 2 years and in that time its been nothing but superb. Cheap to maintain and superbly relyable - my only reason for sale is that I have another two cars and just cannot justify keeping all of them - my project car of some 4 years is about to be on the road so this one has to go. The reserve is has bee substantially lowered! Thought I should add that the common blacked out clock and heater controls has been fixed - I replaced the screen just after buying the car with a new and upgraded one from america, well worth it in my opinion so those screens are nice and clear! existing car. It`s done just over 200k which is nothing for this engine, it still runs like a well-oiled sewing machine. As it transpired I didn`t need the car and it has sat on my drive for the last couple of months. When I first got the car I had both rear cills welded and the passenger side rear wheel arch repaired, all the rusty metal was cut-out and replaced. I also had the throttle body cleaned out as the engine wasn`t ticking over smoothly. It now runs as it should. The body is generally good with the odd mark which is to be expected from a car that is nearly 20 years old. All the LCD displays work as do the lights on the instrument panel which is a common fault on these cars. It comes with a folder of bills for work carried out over the years including a timing belt change at 137k. If you look at the Lexus forums you`ll see that the view is that it need changing every 100k miles so good for another 35k. For some reason the UK cars were listed as 60k changes unlike the rest of the world!! However, even if it does break, the engine in the early cars are non-interference so no engine damage. If I was keeping the car I wouldn`t have changed the belt. All the electric toys work although the air-con isn`t cold. Finally, it also has a towbar with double sockets.Now for the less good bits, for the MOT it will need the drivers side rear wheel bearing replacing as it is noisy. The bearings are about £60 and I was quoted two hours work by my garage, all in probably £150-200. It will also need a couple of tyres for the front. You can get them for £40-50 each fitted. There are a couple of minor things that aren`t MOT things so don`t need fixing, more of an annoyance. The lock on the drivers door is temperamental and although it locks all the other doors it doesn`t always lock the drivers one. The radio aerial is broken, the motor works but the antenna part has snapped, a replacement on e-Bay is about £20 and a 5 minute fix just needs to be guided into the motor turning the radio on and off. There is wear to the drivers seat and a scratch on the boot which I`ve tried to show in a picture.I`ve sent off to DVLA for the V5 as I hadn`t received it from them and it should be here in the next few days, if not I`ll send it on to any buyer. towing a very small caravan, I had a previous Lexus and had fitted a removable tow hitch which was fine as it did`nt distract from the apperance of the lexus although costing me £650, but it looked fine, when inquiring about a tow hitch for this car I have been told by suppliers that there are no removable tow hitches to fit this Lexus but was offered your normal every day hitch,that required cutting a hole in the car and leaving a dirty big tow ball exposed and all for the princely sum of £850. This from a seemingly reputable company that adertise regularly on ebay. This was not going to happen on my watch of this beauty it would have been sacrilege, hence I have to sell her. I am not going to give you a long discription of the vehicle as you if you want to buy one of these beauties then you will have gone through every detail before and still being interested.. The condition of this Lexus is outstanding,there are no dings, no scratches,no rust . I cannot give you any bad points because there are`nt any. The inside is leather and in exellent condition as is everything else on the inside there has been no mutilation of any of the interior as you somtimes see. There are a multitude of electricl equipment on these cars and on this one everything works. The engine is very clean and does not reqire a cambelt for another thirty thousand miles, if you need to judge this engine place a glass of water on top of the engine when running and you wont see a ripple and you will barely hear it running. she is lovely and the photo`s don`t do her credit the colour is pearl metalic white the lower half as is standard on these cars is a metalic grey. looked after it well and kept it well maintained. It has full service history. It had it`s last major service at 178k and that included a cam belt. All brake discs and pads were replaced last year at about 182k. The engine and gearbox are both very good and it drives very well.As you can see from the pictures it is in good condition apart from the rust in the top corners of the windscreen and some tiny bubbles on two of the wheel arches. There is also a scratch on the rear bumper. The electric ariel doesn`t go down anymore and both the boot release and the fuel cap release only work manually. The speedometer is reading 223360 miles, which may appear to be high in some peoples eyes but please do not let this put you off as these cars ware built to last and this one in particular looks, drives and feels like it has done alot less miles. With the service history you can see that the car has been well looked after and this car has alot of life left in her. She always starts first time and drives very well. As i said above, the service history book is present and consits of 15 stamps many from Lexus main dealers. The Lexus has just had a brand new, straight through stainless steel exhaust system, genuine lexus exhaust fitted on June 29th by Kwik-Fit in Bristol. The interior of the car is also in very good condition with minor wear, the worst to the drivers seat which is to be expected. The seats are full leather and really suit the car. Being a top of the range Lexus it comes with all of the extras, all working as they should: electric windows, large electric sunroof, electric tilt steering wheel, fully adjustable electric seats, heated seats, electric mirrors, cruise control, central locking, 12 disc CD changer in the boot, alarm, immobilser, climate control, air conditioning, tape player, sport mode, anti lock brakes, Valet mode and powered steering. And as i said everything works as it should. The remote central locking is a bit sticky from the key fob but if you put the key in the door the central locking works perfectly as it should. The gearbox is perfect, its automatic and you can change up and down gears manually, the car changes gear very smoothly as it should. You can drive it slowely and in a luxury way or put it in sport mode and put your foot down. The engine, beautiful, sporty and luxurious is also as it should be. The engine and gearbox (as i said above), steering, suspension, brakes etc work as they should, with no noises, it really is a truely beautiful car which is so nice to drive which has clearly has been very well looked after.
