2001 Lexus LS430 Premium Pack Saloon (Automatic) - 168,000 miles

Interior & Exterior Condition

As you probably already know, Lexus cars are renowned for being impeccably built, and this is especially true with the LS models. Inside the car, there is hardly any wear at all, as you can see from the photographs. The rear doesn't really look any different from brand-new, and even the driver's seat has very few creases or marks.

Outside, the paintwork has a deep shine, but there are several stonechips on the front bumper as you'd expect. There are no dents whatsoever, but there is a scratch on the driver's door which has been previously touched-up. It's not noticeable from a distance, but can still be seen when examined closely. Some of the wheels have areas where the paint is beginning to flake away, but this is cheap to rectify these days if you wanted to bring them back to pristine condition.

Maintenance

The car has had 13 Lexus dealer services during its life, all of which are stamped in the service book (most invoices are present too).

After around 120k miles, it's had Lexus independent services, along with regular full-synthetic oil changes (last one at 163k miles). At that time, front & rear brake discs and pads were replaced, along with all 4 oxygen sensors (receipt present). One oxygen sensor had failed, so I had all 4 replaced at the same time. The spark plugs were changed at 153k miles. A new battery was fitted a few months ago too.

The MOT expires May 2012, and there were no advisories issued at the last MOT. As you can see, it's been well cared-for, and most consumable items won't need replacing for many, many miles. Absolutely everything on the car works perfectly - every single switch.

Equipment and Options

The majority of equipment on the LS430 is standard anyway (dual climate control, xenon lights, cruise control, heated & cooled electric seats, sat nav, 6-CD changer, Mark Levinson premium sound, rear & side sunblins, electric windows, mirrors, etc), but the Premium Pack adds a few extra features, so the following are worth pointing out separately...

Summary

This is probably one of the best examples of the LS430 you’ll find. At this age, it's the maintenance which matters most, and all of the consumable items which would need replacing have already been recently changed.

When I originally purchased this, I viewed an identical-spec car which had covered 310k miles, and to be honest it drove perfectly, and everything worked - so I wouldn't let the mileage put you off. Come and have a drive and you'll see what I mean!
